The San Luis Obispo Tigers will square off against the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when San Luis Obispo and St. Joseph meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Tigers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Knights.
Joe Isaman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because San Luis Obispo is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabe Vigil, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Paso Robles won against South East on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bearcats' pitcher stepped up to hand San Luis Obispo a 7-0 shutout. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Nate Contreras was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Xander Hermanson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Blayne Lowry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
San Luis Obispo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Paso Robles, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-10.
San Luis Obispo suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Paso Robles in their previous meeting on Thursday. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
