Week 5 of the Wisconsin high school football season is here and we are putting the spotlight on the biggest games.
Week 5 games to watch
Thursday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFan
Two of the last three unbeaten Cloverbelt Conference teams meet in the Thursday night showdown. Regis has three straight shutouts, including last week's 27-0 win over Elk Mound. Junior running back
Braxton Tarbox led a balanced rushing attack with six carries for 69 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, junior linebacker
Mason McCoy led the way with 10 tackles (all solo) in Week 4. In Durand-Arkansaw's 43-7 win over Neillsvile/Granton last week, sophomore running back
Ian Havens carried the ball 19 times for 113 yards and a score, while senior running back
Ethan Mack had a pair of rushing touchdowns and also threw for a touchdown. Last season, Regis cruised to a 60-14 win.
No. 1 Arrowhead (Hartland) (4-0) at No. 2 Muskego (3-1)Friday, 7 p.m. The week's premier matchup, Arrowhead vs. Muskego, features the top two teams in the MaxPreps state rankings. The Classic Eight Conference foes cruised to wins in Week 4. Top-ranked Arrowhead defeated Pewaukee 47-7 behind a strong rushing performance from senior running back
Jacob Siner, who finished with 201 yards on 13 carries and reached the endzone four times. Senior linebacker
Brendan Foley, an Army commit, led the defense with 10 tackles (8 solo), two for a loss and one sack. Muskego defeated Waukesha West 42-14 last week. The Warriors were led in rushing by sophomore
Bryson Hoeffler (118 yards, 3 touchdowns) and senior
Jackson Niemiec (74 yards, 1 touchdown). Junior linebacker
Jayden Adams paced the defense with seven tackles (6 solo), including a sack for Muskego. Last season, Arrowhead topped Muskego 7-3.
No. 20 Oak Creek (3-1) at No. 7 Franklin (4-0) Friday, 7 p.m. The Southeast Conference rivals meet in a battle of two of the last three undefeated teams in the league. In Week 4, Franklin routed Racine Park 56-0 while Oak Creek earned a 54-22 victory over Racine Horlick. Junior running backs
Dillon Herling and
Gurbaj Khaira each had a pair of touchdown runs last week for Franklin. For Oak Creek, sophomore running back
Jay Baylis-Hooker compiled 146 yards on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns and fellow sophomore
Cayson Seabrooks scored three rushing touchdowns and finished with 120 yards. Senior quarterback
Blake Firkus went 14 of 15 with 162 yards and two touchdown passes. Franklin won last year's matchup, 52-21.
No. 12 Marquette University (Milwaukee) (2-2) at No. 11 Oconomowoc (3-1)Friday, 7 p.m. The non-conference contest features teams in the top 15 of the MaxPreps state rankings. Marquette has won its last two games, including a 55-13 win over Menomonee Falls last week. Junior quarterback
Ben Schroeder went 16 of 24 with 256 yards and four touchdown passes for the Hilltoppers. Two of Schroeder's touchdown passes went to senior
Callum Ferber, who finished the game with eight catches for 119 yards. Senior defensive back
Mike O'Brien compiled seven tackles (6 solo) to lead Marquette's defense. Oconomowoc is coming off a 35-6 loss to Mukwonago, ranked No. 3 this week. Sophomore running back
Damian Bartolotta rushed the ball 10 times for 80 yards and a touchdown for the Raccoons.
Friday, 7 p.m. - Watch live NFHS Network | Tickets via GoFanWest De Pere has outscored its opponents by an average of over 33 points per game, including last week's 50-14 win over Green Bay Preble. Senior quarterback
Patrick Greisen went 28 of 35 for 434 yards and four touchdowns in the win. The University of South Dakota commit leads the state with 1,168 yards passing and 15 touchdown passes. The Phantoms' top pass catchers in Week 4 were juniors
Darian Acevedo-Ortiz (136 yards, 2 touchdowns) and
Landon Kibbe (124 yards, 2 touchdowns). Pulaski has won its last three games since a Week 1 loss to Oconomowoc (38-14), this week's No. 11 team in the MaxPreps rankings. In last week's 48-13 win over Green Bay Southwest, 11 players had at least one carry, with senior
Gavin Sikorski leading the team with 88 yards (3 carries) and scoring one of the Red Raiders' six rushing touchdowns. Last season, West De Pere shut out Pulaski 47-0.
Hudson (4-0) at Stevens Point (4-0)Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFan
The non-conference contest features a pair of unbeaten squads. In Week 4, Hudson knocked off last year's Big Rivers Conference champion New Richmond 24-21. Senior quarterback
Cooper Adair went 8 of 13 with 184 yards and two touchdown passes and ran the ball 17 times for 83 yards for the Raiders. Fellow senior
Payton Pingel led the team with 141 yards on 26 carries and scored a touchdown. On defense, senior cornerback
Benjamin Englund posted a team-high 12.5 tackles (10 solo) for Hudson. Stevens Point shut out Wisconsin Rapids 56-0 last week with junior quarterback
Trent Breitbach accounting for four touchdowns. He passed for 166 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 57 yards and three scores. Last season, Hudson earned a 21-14 win when they met in a non-league game.
Monona Grove (Monona) (3-1) at Milton (4-0)Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFanA marquee showdown in the Badger Large Conference. Milton is one of three remaining unbeaten teams in league play, coming off a 28-6 victory over Oregon. Senior running back
Charlie Fitzke rushed for 158 yards on 25 carries and found the endzone once for the Red Hawks. Monona Grove cruised to a 38-8 win over DeForest last week after dropping a 14-13 contest against No. 8 Waunakee in Week 3. Sophomore quarterback
Jaxon Zukowski connected on all six pass attempts for 148 yards and two touchdowns last week with senior wide receiver
Zach Dresen catching three balls for 83 yards and a score. The Silver Eagles also got two touchdown runs from senior
Tremayne Habeck. In last year's matchup, Monona Grove beat Milton 26-21.
Reedsburg (3-1) at Holmen (4-0) Friday, 7 p.m. - Tickets via GoFanHolmen is one of three unbeaten teams in Mississippi Valley Conference play. The Vikings are coming off a 45-0 victory over Sparta. Senior running backs
Jack Barth (115 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns; 49 yards receiving) and
Eli Kane (94 yards rushing, 3 touchdowns) highlighted the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, junior linebacker
Parker Spah compiled eight tackles (7 solo), including two for a loss. Reedsburg, which opened MVC play with a loss to La Crosse Logan, got back on track last week with a 47-14 win over Onalaska. Senior running back
Landin Purifoy finished with 18 carries for 139 yards and three touchdowns for the Beavers. Two-way standout
Will Mikonowicz (QB/S), a Division II Minnesota Duluth recruit, had 49 yards rushing with a touchdown, compiled 5.5 tackles (4 solo), and picked off two passes, including returning one for a touchdown. Last season, Reedsburg posted a 35-21 win over Holmen.
Arcadia (3-1) at West Salem (3-1)Friday, 7 p.m. - Watch live NFHS Network | Tickets via GoFanBoth squads cruised to Coulee Conference wins last week. West Salem has outscored its previous three opponents 135-20, including a 49-8 victory over Westby last week, since a Week 1 loss to Onalaska (35-26). Junior quarterback
Drew McConkey passed for 192 yards, going 7 of 10, and two touchdowns in the most recent win. Arcadia is coming off a 38-0 shutout win over Viroqua. Junior quarterback
Carter Wegman threw five touchdowns and 251 yards, connecting on 12 of 21 attempts. Sophomore wide receivers
Deklyn Grzadzielewski (94 yards, 2 touchdowns) and
Khyle Updike (59 yards, 3 touchdowns) were the Raiders' top targets. In last year's meeting, West Salem posted a 57-22 victory over Arcadia.
McDonell Central (Chippewa Falls) (4-0) at Gilman (4-0)Friday, 7 p.m. Two of the top 8-player teams in the state meet in the North Central-East Conference showdown. Both squads have been dominating their opponents, with three shutouts each. Gilman is coming off a 37-0 win over Cornell, with junior quarterback
Logan Halida tossing two touchdowns and junior running back
Lucas Halida rushing for a pair of scores for the Pirates. In McDonell Central's 39-0 win against Owen-Withee, senior quarterback
Cael Holm passed for 213 yards and three touchdowns and scored a touchdown on the ground. All three of Holm's touchdown passes were to junior
Luke Andersen, who finished the game with 111 yards on five receptions. The Macks' rushing attack was paced by senior
Desian Matthews, who carried the ball eight times for 166 yards and a touchdown. Last season, McDonell Central topped Gilman 22-14.
