The Scholars Guild Academy Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Victory Baptist Warrior at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Scholars Guild Academy sitting on six straight wins and Victory Baptist on four.
Victory Baptist's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Scholars Guild Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Everything went the Spartans' way against North Georgia HomeSchool on Friday as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ty Newton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Sebastian Kenny and Henry Rumble did most of the damage at the plate: Kenny scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Rumble scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Scholars Guild Academy is undefeated when Rumble posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Will Pittman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Scholars Guild Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Georgia HomeSchool only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Victory Baptist beat Covenant Christian Academy 6-1 on Tuesday.
Like Scholars Guild Academy, Victory Baptist also got a great game from a two-way player: Asher Alexander. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Alexander has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, DJ Jones was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Dominick Smith was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Scholars Guild Academy's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Victory Baptist, their record is now 8-5.
Victory Baptist's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scholars Guild Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348.
