Kern Valley and the Roadrunners are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Kern Valley Broncs will head out on the road to face off against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
After a string of four wins, Kern Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Desert. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two points.
Despite their loss, Kern Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayda Bushling, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bushling has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Bunting, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rosamond put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Boron on the road to the tune of 58-27. The win was nothing new for Rosamond as they're now sitting on six straight.
Kern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Rosamond, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.
Kern Valley came up short against the Roadrunners in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-51. Can Kern Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
