Fort Bend Travis is 8-2 against Fort Bend Austin since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Fort Bend Travis Tigers will square off against the Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fort Bend Travis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Fort Bend Elkins on Tuesday as Fort Bend Travis made off with a 20-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Austin entered their tilt with Fort Bend Clements on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rangers 18-2. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.
Roxanna Ramirez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ramirez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Penny Strohl was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hiranya Singh Talan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Fort Bend Austin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .654. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .447 or higher in three consecutive games.
Fort Bend Austin's record is now 4-6. As for Fort Bend Travis, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6-1.
Everything went Fort Bend Travis' way against Fort Bend Austin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Fort Bend Travis made off with a 13-3 victory.
