The Brookville Raiders lost against the Clarion Area Bobcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The contest between Brookville and the Bobcats wasn't particularly close, with the Raiders falling 45-30.
Brookville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eden Wonderling, who scored ten points along with two steals. Wonderling has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.
Clarion Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Alston led the charge by scoring 16 points. Alston continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marley Kline, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Brookville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Clarion Area, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookville will take on the Berries at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cranberry Area is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Clarion Area, they will play host again and welcome the Wolves, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kane is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
