Having just played yesterday, the Farrell Steelers will head out on the road to face off against the Aliquippa Quips at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Farrell will be strutting in after a victory while Aliquippa will be coming in after a defeat.
On Tuesday, Farrell really took it to West Middlesex for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-14 win at home. With Farrell ahead 55-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Farrell relied on the efforts of Dontaye Bell, who scored 18 points, and Danny Odem III, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Juelz Johnson, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Aliquippa came up short against Mt. Lebanon on Saturday and fell 55-44. While losing is never fun, Aliquippa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Mt. Lebanon is ranked fourth).
Farrell's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Aliquippa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Farrell didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Aliquippa in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Farrell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
