The Venture Academy Mustangs can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Elliot Christian 49-24. Winning may never get old, but Venture Academy sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Jz Lawrence continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with nine steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Venture Academy's points. Kimora Crawford was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Elliot Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nena Heiser. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Heiser also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett Gaither, who scored six points.
Venture Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Elliot Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venture Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Millennium at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Elliot Christian, they will challenge Stone Ridge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
