The Temecula Prep Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Rubidoux Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Temecula Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on California Lutheran with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the C-Hawks: they've now won five in a row.
Temecula Prep got a great performance from Evan Van Winkle as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Van Winkle has posted since back in March of 2025.

On the hitting side, Temecula Prep let Cody Servin and Nikolaz Gonzalez run wild. Servin went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Servin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kevin Baker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Rubidoux gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Pacific. Considering the Falcons have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rubidoux got a massive performance out of Erick Castillo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, Castillo is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Emilio Jimenez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Rubidoux, their record now sits at 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Temecula Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rubidoux struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Temecula Prep got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February of 2025 against Rubidoux by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
