Football Recap: St. Pius X's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Pius X won the last time they faced Manzano and Hershul Olloway Jr did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sartans were the clear victors by a 49-28 margin over the Monarchs on Saturday thanks in part to Olloway Jr, who rushed for 212 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 58 receiving yards. Olloway Jr is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.

Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Broden Price, who rushed for 138 yards and one score while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 55 receiving yards and one touchdown. Price was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 52 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Bodi True, who threw for 145 yards and a pair of TDs.

The victory (which was St. Pius X's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Manzano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

St. Pius X does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manzano, they will face off against Bernalillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
