Alex Heinicke was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dominic Gutierrez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season.
Stuart Hall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Linda struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Marin Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup last Saturday. They lost 11-1 to Branson.
Marin Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one double. Marin Academy is 2-1 when Stewart posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.
Stuart Hall's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Marin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
