Blaine was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Anoka. The Bengals came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 31 last week.
Totino-Grace extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Suburban this week by beating Osseo, 14-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Eagles.
Andover's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Connor Wilkie threw for 131 and two touchdowns and Chris Larson had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Derek McLaughlin chipped in 178 yards. Tyler Evans helped Andover's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
Alex Copa provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Blaine defeated the Tornadoes. He completed four passes for 72 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 131 yards. Copa's favorite target this week was Zach Wylie, who caught one pass for 41 yards.
Mitch Letourneau made the biggest impact on defense this week as Anoka fell to Tom Develice's team. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed one sack.
On the ground, Champlin Park's Michael Sales has rushed for 802 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Bryce Marquardt. The Champlin Park star has 34 catches for 553 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Orioles take on Jeff Buerkle's team. At the moment, Osseo is in third, while the Tornadoes are in ninth.
