Spring Hill gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Bonner Springs Braves, posting a 47-7 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Spring Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maysen Dodson, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 58 receiving yards and one TD. The Broncos also got a significant boost from Hank Kotchavar, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Syler Stewart, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Spring Hill's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Andrew Pullen with two.
