Baseball Game Preview: Jordan Panthers vs. Millikan Rams

Jordan hasn't had much luck against Millikan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 4:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Jordan came up short against Long Beach Poly and fell 9-5.

Jordan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oswald Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The Panthers are 3-1 when Martinez posts two or more runs, but 4-8-1 otherwise. Another was Talin Velazquez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Millikan's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They never let Cerritos get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Millikan also got a great performance from Daunte Bell as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Andrew Perez was a standout: he scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Noa Morales was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Millikan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1.
