The Arrowhead Christian Eagles suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 96-23 loss at the hands of Ontario Christian. Arrowhead Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-2.
Arrowhead Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kawino Rice, who scored nine points, and Sienna Batalo who scored six points.
Kaleena Smith was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 38 points and 5 assists for Ontario Christian. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Ontario Christian's points. Karsen Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Arrowhead Christian and nudges their season record down to 11-6. As for Ontario Christian, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arrowhead Christian will square off against Linfield Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Linfield Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Ontario Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Brentwood School at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Brentwood School is on a four-game streak of home wins, Ontario Christian a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
