Even though the Waynesburg Central Raiders have not done well against the South Park Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Waynesburg Central came out on top against South Park by a score of 48-36. Winning may never get old, but Waynesburg Central sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Waynesburg Central can attribute much of their success to Addison Blair, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blair has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josie Horne, who scored nine points.
Waynesburg Central's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for South Park, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waynesburg Central will take on Brownsville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Brownsville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for South Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brentwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Brentwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while South Park is ranked 165th).
