The Foothill Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-34 loss at the hands of El Dorado. Foothill has not had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Perez, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Elize McAveney, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Foothill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. This was only their 15th loss (out of 20 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Foothill has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for El Dorado, their win bumped their record up to 18-9.
Foothill will head out on the road to square off against the Comanches at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. El Dorado will take on the Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
