The Oneonta Redskins were the 85-54 winner over the Locust Fork Hornets when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Oneonta fell 59-48 to Locust Fork on Friday. Oneonta has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Locust Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jalon Boatright, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Titus White, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Oneonta's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8. As for Locust Fork, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oneonta and Southeastern will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Locust Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Cold Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cold Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Locust Fork is ranked 117th).
