The Daniel Lions and the Union County Yellowjackets will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of four wins, Daniel's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Greenwood 48-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Daniel has scored all season.
The losing side was boosted by Hayden Anderson, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Tristyn Carrington, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Union County had to suffer through a rough 67-40 loss at the hands of Seneca. While losing is never fun, Union County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Seneca is ranked 52nd).
Daniel's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Daniel barely slipped by Union County in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 56-55. Does Daniel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Union County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
