Nordhoff is 0-8 against Grace since May of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Rangers are taking a road trip to challenge the Lancers at 4:00 p.m.

Jacob De Alba made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Nordhoff is 5-2 when De Alba posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise.
Grace not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 29-2). They put the hurt on Canoga Park with a sharp 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jack Mazza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other pitching news, Bryan Handler and Shane Smith dominated on the mound. Handler went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Smith tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Daniel Morlett and Brady Borgstrom did most of the damage at the plate: Morlett went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Borgstrom went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Borgstrom is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Charlie Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Grace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .553. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Grace is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nordhoff, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.
Nordhoff might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Grace in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Rangers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
