Sadly, the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels are still looking for their first win of the season after 13 games. They had to suffer through a rough 68-39 loss at the hands of Windber. While losing is never fun, Moshannon Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while Windber is ranked 335th).
Evan Brady was nothing short of spectacular for Windber: he scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brady has scored all season. Grady Klosky was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Moshannon Valley dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Windber, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Moshannon Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Harmony Area at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st. Harmony Area knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Moshannon Valley likes a good challenge. As for Windber, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Portage at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Portage will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Windber surely won't give up without a fight.
