Cornerstone Christian had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-8 to make it six. They came up short against the Elsinore Tigers, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 on Tuesday.

Josh May was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Cornerstone Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 1-7 when he doesn't).
As for Elsinore, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.
On Elsinore's side, Isaac Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Garcia has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Elsinore got a massive performance out of Matthew Frias, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Frias a new career-high. Tyler Willeford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Looking ahead, Cornerstone Christian will challenge Packinghouse Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.22 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elsinore, they will square off against West Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
