Elbert County is a perfect 6-0 against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Elbert County Blue Devils will take on Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. Elbert County knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy likes a good challenge.
If Elbert County beats Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy with 13 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Elbert County beat Athens Academy on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-2. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Sam Amabile made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Jose Rodriguez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Brayden Ingram also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Elbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in three consecutive games.
While Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Oglethorpe County by a score of 7-4 on Friday.
Like Elbert County, Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Owen Forsythe. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Forsythe has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Bullock, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Clark, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. Elbert County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Elbert County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Elbert County took their victory against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2. Does Elbert County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
