Baseball Recap: Taft Has No Trouble Against Minarets

While Taft put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Minarets. The Wildcats blew past the Mustangs 10-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Taft saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Heber, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Heber has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-11 otherwise.

Taft was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Taft and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Minarets, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Coming up, Taft will venture away from home to square off against Shafter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Minarets, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
