NYOS Charter is 1-9 against Tribe W since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The NYOS Charter Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Tribe W Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
NYOS Charter fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over Jubilee. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as NYOS Charter just coasted through the last quarter.
NYOS Charter's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mark Amichia, who gained 163 total yards and three touchdowns, and Lucas Harman, who threw for 173 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Milo Oden, who picked up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tribe W put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Austin Royals HomeSchool 53-8 on the road. The result was nothing new for Tribe W, who have now won five matchups by 45 points or more so far this season.
Tribe W's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Mcalister, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mcalister was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 61 yards. Mikey Bowlin did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped NYOS Charter to 4-4 and Tribe W to 7-0.
NYOS Charter took a serious blow against Tribe W in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 62-14. Can NYOS Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
