The Crisp Academy Wildcats will head out to challenge the Georgia Christian Generals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with four losses in a row dating back to last season, Crisp Academy turned things around against Byne Christian on Thursday. They blew past the Saints 22-2.
Jacob Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI.
In other batting news, Crisp Academy let Wyatt Youngblood and Reese Reed run wild. Youngblood went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Reed scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Wilk Stevens, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, while Georgia Christian put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Open Bible Christian. Georgia Christian was the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Open Bible Christian. The win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with Open Bible Christian: they've now won four in a row.
Like Crisp Academy, Georgia Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Jett Guilliams. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Guilliams gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Georgia Christian got a massive performance out of Colton Hall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Hall has posted since back in March of 2024. Mac Bowling was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
The victory got Crisp Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Georgia Christian, their record now sits at 2-0.
Crisp Academy might still be hurting after the 13-5 defeat they got from Georgia Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Crisp Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
