The Jesuit Marauders will face off against the Armijo Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jesuit comes in on three and Armijo on five.
Jesuit is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Bradshaw Christian with a sharp 17-3 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Marauders with their most commanding win of the season.
Sammy Kane made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Jesuit got a massive performance out of Cade Colombara, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Colombara a new career-high. Petey Palko was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Armijo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Cordova by a score of 7-4 on Monday.
Like Jesuit, Armijo also got a great game from a two-way player: Willie Nickson. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Nickson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Chase Lewis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Juan Uscanga, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Armijo's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
Jesuit skirted past Armijo 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
