The Woodgrove Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Heritage Pride at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woodgrove has three straight wins, Heritage has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Woodgrove made easy work of Osbourn and carried off a 66-42 win.
Colin Fuller was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jack Hill was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Heritage pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 75-59 to Potomac Falls. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Potomac Falls is ranked eighth).
Woodgrove's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Heritage, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Woodgrove came up short against Heritage when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 65-53. Can Woodgrove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
