Taylor Turner and Aja Wallace stepped up to the plate in a big way. Turner went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Wallace went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
McCluer North hit Normandy with a 14-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 20-5 to the Stars.
Trinidy W led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mykia M, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Normandy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hazelwood East, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Normandy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hazelwood East has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Normandy, though, as they've been averaging 10.6 hits. Given Hazelwood East's sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hazelwood East took their victory against Normandy when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
