The Shade Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Star. Shade was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Star apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Abby Barnick was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and six steals for North Star. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Barnick has scored at least 25% of North Star's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Johnston, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Shade's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Star, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Shade will square off against Forbes Road at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. North Star will be home for the holidays to greet McConnellsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
