The Avalon Lancers lost to The Webb Schools Gauls last Saturday, but the Avalon Lancers didn't allow The Webb Schools Gauls the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Avalon walked away with a 42-32 win over The Webb Schools. The win made it back-to-back wins for Avalon.
Several Gauls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Xajani Badkar, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Badkar hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. Another player making a difference was Nicole Rabadi, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Avalon's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for The Webb Schools, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avalon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Magnolia Science Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Magnolia Science Academy's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Avalon's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for The Webb Schools, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newport Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
