The St. Dominic Crusaders will square off against the Eureka Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Dominic 3.1, Eureka 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Eureka will be up against a hot St. Dominic team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Crusaders' pitchers stepped up to hand Ursuline Academy a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Abigail Mandrell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madi Ganey was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Roth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple.
St. Dominic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Eureka sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Westminster Christian.
Chrystal Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Niles, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Eureka's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for St. Dominic, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
St. Dominic took their victory against Eureka when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
