On Saturday, Venture Academy escaped with a win against Summerville by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
Leading Venture Academy to victory were Jz Lawrence and Kimora Crawford. Lawrence dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 steals, while Crawford scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lawrence has scored at least a third of Venture Academy's points. Soleil Smith was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Venture Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Summerville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Venture Academy will be playing at home against Millennium at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Argonaut at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
