Redskins become first Ohio school to reach 1,000-win plateau in girls basketball.

Fort Loramie (Ohio)
became the first girls basketball program in Ohio history to reach 1,000 wins on Saturday with a 65-31 victory over Middletown Christian (Ohio) in an
OHSAA Division VII district final
at Tecumseh High School.
Hiland (Berlin)
High School ranks second in Ohio history with 990 wins, while
Tippecanoe (Tipp City)
High School is third (978).
The national record for program wins is unknown, although head coach Joe Lombard of
Canyon (Texas)
won 1,379 games during his career (which ended in 2020).
Fort Loramie, which started the girls program in 1971, is the
defending D-IV state champion
and looking for its fifth state title. The Redskins were state runner-up twice. Loramie is currently the No. 2 ranked team in the
MaxPreps Division VII Computer Rankings
. The Redskins own 31 Shelby County Athletic League titles.
