Needles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the GV Christian Guardians with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hudson Smith made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Needles let Tyler Wilson and Gabe Rodriquez run wild. Wilson went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Rodriquez got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodriquez Tommy, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.

Needles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.

Needles' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for GV Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Needles will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Guardians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
