The Buchholz Bobcats will square off against the Osceola Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buchholz is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Buchholz made easy work of Bartram Trail and carried off a 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Aidan Kastensmidt made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Blake Brewer and Zac Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Brewer scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-5, while Brown scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Brewer has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cedaris Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Osceola suffered their biggest loss since February 14th on Friday. They came up short against Santa Fe, falling 11-5. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Connor Daly was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Vincent Ferrell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Buchholz pushed their record up to 18-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Osceola, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Osceola's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Buchholz hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Osceola, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Buchholz's hitters?
