Clarkson/Leigh is 8-2 against Howells-Dodge since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Howells-Dodge Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Clarkson/Leigh earned a 53-43 victory over West Point-Beemer. The win made it back-to-back wins for Clarkson/Leigh.
Brynn Settje and Chloe Hanel were among the main playmakers for Clarkson/Leigh as the former scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and the latter scored 17 points along with six steals. The match was Hanel's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Ava Kasik was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Howells-Dodge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 57-11 victory over Lyons-Decatur Northeast. With Howells-Dodge ahead 39-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
The win got Clarkson/Leigh back to even at 3-3. As for Howells-Dodge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Clarkson/Leigh against Howells-Dodge in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 61-33 win. Will Clarkson/Leigh repeat their success, or does Howells-Dodge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
