Mt. Carmel is on  a  four-game streak of home wins, while University City is on  a  three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Sundevils will host the Centurions  at 10:30  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (Mt. Carmel 2.9, University City 2.6) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
Mt. Carmel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Thursday. They skirted past Venice  3-2.

 Isaac Reese made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. What's more,  he posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  stolen base.
 Reese wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Carson Weber, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases. That's the most  stolen bases  Weber has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, University City made easy work of Dos Pueblos  on Thursday and carried off  a  9-1 win.
Like Mt. Carmel, University City also got a great game from a two-way player:  Nolan Nunes. On the mound, he  tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits. Nunes has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Josh Kaplan was  excellent,  going 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.  Thiago Quillin was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 University City  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in three consecutive  contests.
 Mt. Carmel has  been performing  well recently as they've  won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for University City, their win bumped their record up to 22-12.
