For the first time this season, Lithia Springs will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Wednesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Lithia Springs has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Lithia Springs came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Heritage, falling 14-3. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jaden Cooper made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Greyson Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Kennesaw Mountain got themselves on the board against South Cobb on Tuesday, but South Cobb never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with an 18-0 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.
Carter Jeske looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Kennesaw Mountain got a big performance out of Beau Lindic, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. John Trollinger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Kennesaw Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Cobb only posted an OBP of .182.
Kennesaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lithia Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Kennesaw Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
