They skirted past Omaha Central 71-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bellevue West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robby Garcia, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Steven Poulicek, who scored 16 points.
Omaha Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devin Holmon, who scored 19 points. Daleron Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Bellevue West pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Omaha Central, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
Bellevue West won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sunrise Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on February 10th. Averaging 77.16 points so far this season, Bellevue West's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Sunrise Christian Academy better be ready for a challenge. As for Omaha Central, they and Omaha North will face off at 3:45 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Omaha North will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Omaha Central surely won't give up without a fight.
