The St. Lucy's Regents entered their tilt with the New Harvest Christian Warriors with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. St. Lucy's managed a 34-28 victory over New Harvest Christian on Friday.
St. Lucy's was led to victory by Danika Mejico and Nadia Bashoura. Mejico scored 10 points along with 3 steals, while Bashoura scored 8 points along with 15 rebounds and 4 steals. Mejico is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. Kate Vintimilla was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 4 steals.
St. Lucy's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for New Harvest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Lucy's will challenge Southlands Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Southlands Christian: 17.5, St. Lucy's: 24.7) so any points scored will be well earned. New Harvest Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blair at 5:30 p.m. on December 21st.
