The Westminster Christian Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Joseph's Academy Angels at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Joseph's Academy will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Westminster Christian extended their winning streak to nine on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand St. Charles a 15-0 shutout.
Jaymison Lenk was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

In other batting news, Morgan Dolley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophia Bell, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Westminster Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, St. Joseph's Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ursuline Academy on Tuesday. The Angels blew past the Bears 15-4. With that victory, the Angels brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Henley Backsmeyer was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Munaco, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Westminster Christian's record now sits at 11-6. As for St. Joseph's Academy, their record is now 6-8.
Westminster Christian took their win against St. Joseph's Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
