The Saddleback Roadrunners are taking a road trip to take on the Santiago Cavaliers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Saddleback will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Godinez Fundamental, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Roadrunners came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 6-3 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Roadrunners as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Diego Enriquez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Saddleback is 5-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise. Enriquez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ricardo Marquez was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. Jorge Esquivel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Santiago had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Falcons. The Cavaliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Josefa Rodriguez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Chris Arceo was a standout: he scored five runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Rubin, who scored four runs while going 5-for-6.
Santiago was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .481 or higher in three consecutive games.
Santiago's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Saddleback, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Saddleback came out on top in a nail-biter against Santiago when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roadrunners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
