The Central Valley Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Patterson, falling 63-14. While losing is never fun, Central Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1140th, while Patterson is ranked 116th).
Siena Musson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Patterson, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Musson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kailani Ortiz, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Central Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for Patterson, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-1.
Central Valley will be playing at home against Merced at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Patterson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Atwater at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Atwater is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
