Bonita Vista has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Steele Canyon Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Monday, Bonita Vista came up short against Leuzinger and fell 51-41. While losing is never fun, Bonita Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Leuzinger is ranked 32nd).
Despite their defeat, Bonita Vista saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bayanai Cordova, who scored 17 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahliya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Steele Canyon can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Valhalla 65-17 at home. The win was nothing new for Steele Canyon as they're now sitting on six straight.
Bonita Vista's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Steele Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
