After losing to Rancho Verde the last time they met, Hillcrest decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans blew past the Mustangs 7-1 on Thursday. Considering the Trojans have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on James Henson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Chris Sampson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Hillcrest and bumps their season record up to 14-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Rancho Verde, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hillcrest is set to challenge their familiar foe Rancho Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Rancho Verde will square off against rival Canyon Springs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
