Omaha North and the Packers are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Omaha North Vikings will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Omaha South Packers at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Omaha North pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benson.
Despite the defeat, Omaha North saw an underclassman step up: Ayanna Hill scored 18 points along with seven steals. Hill hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Milani Drake, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Omaha South's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 54-39 bruising from Columbus. Omaha South was down 47-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Omaha North has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Omaha South, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Omaha North strolled past the Packers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 66-52. Does Omaha North have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Packers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
