The Sharpsville Blue Devils had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell to Union City 58-52.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lily Palko , who scored 16 points. Macie Steiner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Sharpsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Union City, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Sharpsville will head out on the road to face off against Mercer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mercer presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sharpsville in Pennsylvania (Mercer is ranked 257th, while Sharpsville is ranked 519th). As for Union City, they will be playing at home against Conneaut Area at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
