Diboll proved they can win big  last Friday (they won by 15) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  victory over the Center Roughriders. The  win was nothing new for the Lumberjacks as they're now sitting on four straight.
 Brooklyn Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in February.
 In other batting news,  Lorena Castillo was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run.  Taylor Pettey also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
 Diboll  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  struck out at most four  strikeouts in five consecutive  matches.
Diboll now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Center,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-13.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Diboll will face off against Newton at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. Newton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.43  runs per game on average), something Diboll will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Center, they will host Hudson  at 6:45  p.m.  on Friday. Hudson's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1  runs per game  this season, so Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
