They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Center Roughriders. The win was nothing new for the Lumberjacks as they're now sitting on four straight.
Brooklyn Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Lorena Castillo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Taylor Pettey also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
