The Mira Loma Matadors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They put the hurt on Burbank with a sharp 56-33 victory. Mira Loma might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 23 points or more this season.
Mira Loma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Ulep, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Ulep also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Canafe, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds.
Burbank's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Bufford, who scored two points along with six rebounds and five steals. Bufford has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tearra Robinson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Mira Loma's win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Burbank, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
